Nathan Fillion (born March 27, 1971 in Edmonton, Alberta, Canada) is a Canadian actor. He is reportedly the distant relation of Confederate civil war general Jubal Early.
When working inside many theatre, television and film productions, including the makeshift detergent opera Die Foul, Fillion moved to New York City in 1994 where he acted in the soap opera One Life to Live as Joey Buchanan, for which he was nominated in 1996 for a Daytime Emmy in the "Outstanding Younger Actor" category. Inside 1997, he left the series to pursue more projects. When moving to Los Angeles, he played in the sitcom Two Guys, a Girl, and a Pizza Place, and he was "the wrong Ryan" inside Steven Spielberg's Saving Private Ryan.
Fillion starred when Captain Malcolm Reynolds in the Joss Whedon science fiction television series Firefly (2002), for which he won the "Cinescape Genre Face of the Future Award - Male" award per Academy of Science Fiction, Fantasy & Horror Films, USA. He besides experienced the revenant role when Caleb in the final season of Whedon's series Buffy the Vampire Slayer.
He has too lent his voice to the cartoon King of the Hill in 2001, & a streaming video game Jade Empire and the alive series Justice League Unlimited (as Vigilante in the episode "Hunter's Moon") in 2005.
Fillion reprises his role when Reynolds inside Whedon's pic Serenity (2005).
He has recently been cast in the James Gunn horror film Slither.
